A-Z: What was racing through your mind when your name got called out at the Rural Model Search?
CB: Above everything I was just absolutely thrilled. I was debating whether or not I would look stupid if I cried, because I was so happy and overwhelmed.

A-Z: What did your friends say at school that week after the win?
CB: My close friends were very happy for me, because they know how much I want to model. I didn’t tell many people, but soon everyone was congratulating me which was kind of them. It was funny when a teacher stopped me in the corridor and dragged me into her office to show me an article on me winning the search that had popped up in her Facebook feed.

A-Z: What's next for Chelsea Burke?
CB: I’m weeks away from finishing my schooling years, which is a bit freaky. Modelling is an area that I have always been interested in, so I am desperate to kick-start my career in the industry with AZALEA Models. To be the suddenly signed with an agency and the face of the Rural Runway has ticketed of a few things on my list.

A-Z: Where does the Burke family come from, have you all been in the Barossa for long?
CB: We’ve been in the Barossa for six years. The Burke family comes from a couple places, I myself am from New Zealand as well as my brother and Mum, and Dad is from Ireland. We’ve mostly lived on stud farms in the country that breed horses for racing.

A-Z: What made you decide to try out in the Model Search?
CB: For me it was really a great time to for me to potentially start modelling and a great chance to catch the attention of an agency. I had been following AZALEA Models for a bit so when they put on a model search ten minutes up the road I just had to go. I also hoping to come away with something positive from it even if I didn’t win.

A-Z: Who would be your dream client to work with?
CB: It would be a dream to walk for Paolo Sebastian in AFF17, his shows are stunning.

A-Z: What was the last thing you bought?
CB: Honestly, raspberry twists.

A-Z: If you could only kiss one boy for the rest of your life who would it be?
CB: Harry Styles.
