These are the Adelaide boutiques that are a must-see
Get in loser, we’re going shopping
So if you haven’t been living in a hole in the middle of Siberia, then you may have realised that Adelaide is kind of becoming a pretty cool place.
Every week we seem to see a new pop up bar, or a restaurant with a way-out-there theme. New labels and brands are a dozen, and if I see another art exhibition I’m going to scream (in excitement of course).
It’s a pretty good time to be a Radeladian, and one of the many reasons is the shopping.
In celebration of all of the wicked cool boutiques around town, we’ve put together a list of our favourites. And because we’re extra amazing, they are all in order of geographical location, so you can literally follow the store trail with the gals.
Love Affair Boutique
Worth the ten minute trip outside of the city.
The girls at Love Affair have curated a beautiful space of dusk pink furniture and sparkly goodies that you’re going to want to buy ten of. Stockists of Atoir, Mossman, Stevie May, Shona Joy, Talulah and more.
They even have their very own in-house brand, Sonder Stories.
439 Magill Road, St Morris
Hooly dooly this one’s a good one; packed to the brim of local brands including C/MEO Collective, Finders Keepers, Keepsake, The Fifth, Jaggar Shoes and Cinquante the Label. The Birdcage Boutique has re-claimed it’s title as the largest Australian Fashion Labels stockist now that BNKR has closed.
171a The Parade, Norwood
Arguably one of Adelaide’s most stylish suburbs, sees the location of the newly re-launched Style Society Boutique. Previously named Linea Mode, the store first launched in 1995. The mum-daughter duo stocks some of our favourite Australian and international brands including Shilla, By Johnny, By Kane, MLM the Label, Elliat, Superga and more.
57 Kensington Road, Norwood
The newest boutique to hit the streets of Adelaide, named after the owner’s sausage doggy Frank, stocks our favourite independent brands such as The East Order, House of Sunny, Amber Sceats, Poms, Lenni the Label, Permanent Vacation, and Sister Studios, some of which are their exclusive home for SA.
Be there in 10, aslong as the pupper is there waiting for us.
230 Rundle Street, Adelaide
Born in August
You may remember Born in August’s founder, Lana Delkic, from working on the floors at Sooki. So it’s kind of perfect that when Sooki closed it’s Rundle Street doors, who was to take over the lease but the store manager herself, and create her very own boutique. The adorable store stocks the likes of Pasduchas, Spell, Bec & Bridge, Brie Leon, Nookie, Faithfull the Brand, Steele the Label, Matt & Nat.
202 Rundle Street, Adelaide
Tucked behind Rundle Mall beneath James Place is Nowa, a new concept store featuring local and international talent. Nowa the Label’s range includes menswear, womenswear and unisex items for any age or demographic. Home to local and international brands alike: Jungles, Saturday Lingerie, Carrots, Chinatown Market, Raised by Wolves and Belief. The walls of the shop’s entrance are covered in colourful murals and paintings by local artist James Smith.
Apparently they’re waiting for their liquor license to be approved, perfect for the shopaholic slash alcoholic.
Shop 21-23 Rundle Mall, Adelaide
And saving one of the best until lasts, is Tu Yu. Located on North Adelaide’s O’Connell Street (free parking for the first hour ya’ll). This gem has been around for over 20 years, recently downsizing from multiple locations to only the one. Brands include Kitte, Faithfull, C/MEO The Label, Keepsake, Finders Keepers, Joslin and Atoir.
16/67 O'Connell St, North Adelaide
