So, Forever 21 Sent Out Atkins Diet Bars To Plus Size Clothing Orders
We hope that forever 21 has a good PR team!
The word is out that this US fashion retailer sent out Atkins diet bars to plus size clothing orders.
This stunt could potentially be the lowest of lows as people on social media are complaining that this surprise addition is offensive and ‘fatphobic’, as Atkins markets the bars as low-carb snacks for weight loss.
This dilemma left two angry customers tweeting,
‘What are you trying to tell me Forever 21- that I’m fat, lose weight? and ‘Thank u for reminding me that I don’t have a beach ready bod.’
Forever 21 has responded and apologises for the ‘oversight’ and continues to express that the freebie items were ‘included in all online orders and we sincerely apologise for any offense this may have caused to our customers, as this was not our intention’.
Since the controversy all bars have been removed.
Although we all love a freebie, thanks but no thanks!
