LVMH Renames it's Special Prize in Honour of Karl Lagerfeld

Imagine contending in this year’s annual LVMH Prize for Young Designers in Paris and knowing that there will there be a $150,000 cheque and one year mentorship scheme under the LVMH team. More importantly to win an award renamed after the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Lagerfeld would be smiling from above, as LVMH renamed their Special Prize in memory of him.
This was the organisations way of “naturally perpetuates the closeness we developed over the years and is a tribute to the man’s unique creative genius, to his ability to turn Paris into the fashion capital of the world,” Executive Delphine Arnault tells WWD. It was the organisations way of honouring Lagerfeld’s time serving as a judge on the panel since their launch in 2014.
Arnault continues to express to WWD, Lagerfeld’s commitment to the organisation and that will continue to strive and show his contribution through the prize “transporting us with his enthusiasm and his energy, sharing with everyone, his culture and his passion for fashion. We shall always cherish those precious moments.”
